Milwaukee City Council PTA/PTSA's, Inc.
We are a private, nonprofit organization of parents, teachers, students and community members who strive to continually remind the nation of its obligation to all children.
MCCPTA provides leadership training for parents, does monthly mailing to keep parents informed of the happenings in Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS), hosts bimonthly council meetings, and sits on the various committees within MPS, provides scholarships for future teachers, recognizes a teacher of the year, volunteer of the year, and school of the year as well as providing various youth awards to young people.
The PTA Mission
The mission of the PTA is threefold:
To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children.
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of the nation.
Objects of the PTA
To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship.
To raise the standards of home life.
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth.
To bring into closer relation the home and school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
To develop between educations and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and you the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.
MCCPTA
MCCPTA has helped the MPS School Board develop the following policies:
